Lakewood Missions is reaching around the world with the message of Hope and Compassion of Jesus Christ by forming, training and sending evangelistic, humanitarian and medical missions teams to assist people in need. We make it easy for you to have a global impact.

BELIZE

August 29-September 5, 2020

Cost: $1,800

Men / Young Adult Men

Working alongside Jubilee Church and World Gospel Outreach to raise up strong men through mentorship, bible studies, sports, construction projects and community outreaches in Belize.

Spanish Adults

Partnering with Iglesia Buenas Noticias the team will minister to students, children and families in small towns through sports, music, evangelism, drama skits and other ministry activities.

Healthcare Professionals

Partnering with Rescue Hope to provide healthcare services and evangelism, bring physical and spiritual healing to the remote areas of Uganda. Healthcare professionals needed are doctors, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, paramedics and pharmacists.

July 18-27, 2020

Cost: $2,200

Lakewood Church will serve alongside Talkeetna Assembly of God to bring hope and joy to the rural community of Talkeetna, Alaska. The trip will focus on minor construction projects and children's ministry through signing, music and crafts.

August 3-8, 2020

Cost: $1,500

High School (16 years old+)

A Lakewood team of high school students (16 years old+) will serve alongside an urban ministry, San Francisco City Impact, to spread hope, joy and the love of Christ. The team will be involved in a variety of activities from delivering meals, serving the homeless or ministering to children.

el salvador

All Adults

Be part of providing clean water to a community in El Salvador. The team in partnership with Living Water International will drill a water well, teach hygiene lessons and tell Bible stories, bringing tangible and spiritual help to a vulnerable community.

November 1-10, 2020

Cost: $2,700

All Adults

Partnering with a local ministry, the team will visit and pray with vulnerable women who are learning sustainable job skills and social empowerment for a successful future. Also, the team will pray, play and teach in a residential school for boys and girls who have been rescued from trafficking.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

who can apply for a Lakewood mission trip?

At this time, we only have the infrastructure to accept applicants who live in the Greater Houston Area. We would like to encourage those who do not live in the Greater Houston Area to connect with their local churches for mission trip opportunities. If you are a Christian God is calling to the mission field, we hope that a Lakewood Mission Trip provides an opportunity for you to fulfill His calling.

How should I choose a trip?

The first thing you should do before selecting a trip is pray about your decision. Next, research the country and the area where God has called you to serve. For more information about a specific trip, please view the details about each trip above.

What is the application process for a Lakewood mission trip?

Once you have decided on a trip, click here to apply. After your application has been submitted online, your application will be reviewed and a background check completed. If you are selected for an interview, the Missions Ministry will send you an email to schedule an interview. Once all interviews are completed for a trip, you will be informed of your application status.

Do I need a valid passport?

Yes. If you don’t already have a passport, please contact the proper agency for the country of your passport. U.S. citizens can renew or apply for a passport online here or find a local Post Office that provides passport services here. U.S. passports typically take about six weeks to process. Passports are needed for all trips outside of the U.S.

How are payments handled?

Every team member is responsible for covering their trip cost. Each trip has a payment schedule that divides the trip cost across 4-5 scheduled payments. The team members can pay for their trip using the payment schedule or pay the trip in full. All payments are completed online with a major credit card. Also, team members are provided with a donation link to help with their fundraising. Only approved team members will receive additional payment details.

What is the minimum age for participating on a mission trip?

The minimum age depends on the trip. Please refer to the trip description for age requirements.

Will I have to fundraise on my own?

Most of your fundraising will be done individually. However, if you are approved, team members will receive tips on how to fundraise for their trip. There are many many ways to fundraise, such as sending out support letters or cutting back on unnecessary expenses, just to name a few.

Will I receive any preparation before the trip?

Yes. All approved team members are required to attend the scheduled team trainings. Training will cover subjects such as how to evangelize in another culture, what to pack for your trip, team building, prayer, ministry activities and more.

Do I need to have previous mission trip experience?

No. You should have a heart for the mission (particular need/people groups) you are going to serve. However, some of our trips are more intense and are better suited for participants with previous experience. The Living Water trips are great for first-timers.

What does the trip cost cover?

The trip cost covers airfare, visas, housing expenses, ground transportation, travel insurance and all meals at the location. The trip cost does not cover money for souvenirs or meals during travel to/from the location.

What sort of work will I be doing on the trip?

The type of work will depend on the mission trip you select. We are fortunate to offer a variety of trips that provide different ways to serve. Please see the mission trips listed above to learn about the ministry activities for each trip.
